Hello,

A quick email to let you know that there is a ceilidh this Friday at the
Blind Institute...

WHEN: Friday 12th November 8.30 - late
WHERE:  Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind's Hall, Mappin Street
-See the website (http://www.ceilidhsoc.org) for a map.
WHO: The infamous ceilidhsoc scratch band with Gilly and Trev calling.
HOW MUCH: Entry is £2 for members before 9pm, £3 after, and £4 for
non-members,alternatively you can join as a member for £3 and go to the
Ceilidh for free!

Please note that the £2 entry before nine cannot be offered in conjunction
with any other discounts...

Other Stuff:

The regular beginners music session runs every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm
in Octagon meeting room 3. So if you want to learn some new tunes get
yourself along there.
The workshop is followed by the weekly music session in the Red House pub
from about 9pm onwards; a great opportunity to play some tunes, sup some
beer and have a laugh. For directions to the red house take a look at

Radio2 Folk Awards:
Some of you may know about this already but in case you don't - the Radio
2 Folk Awards this year have a 'Best Dance Band' category which is to be
decided by public vote - and you can vote on the internet at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/r2music/folk/folkawards2004/vote.shtml for any
dance/ceilidh band of your choice...

(Pssst - there are some good ceilidh bands from Sheffield)
