Icelandic /English duo "Funi" will be appearing in Sheffield on:


September 27th at the Library Theatre. 7.30pm start, £8 / £5 tickets on
the door.


Funi are Chris Foster and icelandic singer and instrumentalist Bara
Grimsdottir. Together they form "Funi" and play a mixture of traditional
English and Icelandic songs and tunes.


Chris Foster is a singer and guitarist of some renown who has been off the
scene for a number of years but is firmly back on it with his new album
"Outsiders".


Outsiders has been championed by Mike Harding who has featured it on his
Radio 2 show saying "there's not a duff track on the album" . There is
also an interview with Chris in the current edition of fRoots magazine
which calls Outsiders "one of the better English folk albums of recent
times"


They will play a mix of material from Outsiders as well as their icelandic
repertoire, featuring Kantele and Fidla, two of their collection of
icelandic instruments.


They are also leading an Icelandic singing workshop in the afternoon at
Victoria Church on Stafford Road (off City Rd.) 2.30 - 5.00pm. Places for
the workshop must be booked in advance on 0791 3283307
